Gallbladder surgery is fun. I had mine out almost 4 months ago. Here's a few pointers:
a) After you wake up from the surgery, you'll probably forget where you are. Just don't try to get up. It'll hurt like hell. b) You'll get a lot of pain in your right (or left) shoulder/neck from the gas they use during the surgery (if they do it laproscopy). It'll go away after about a week or two, but don't try to lay flat on your back or on your side for about a month. c) Don't forget to rest and do nothing. (I was on my feet the day after my surgery...probably wasn't the best idea). d) If you're feeling nausea after the surgery, ask the doctor/nurse to mix zofran with your morphine instead of gravol. Stuff works wonders.
I healed fairly quickly, took about a month or two. Best of luck Josie! I'd come visit you in the hospital if I could

AUGH! I'm so frustrated now, I need a cookie. I go to get cookie. AND, when I get back, YOU... well, you'll be wherever you are; BUT, I'll have had a cookie and the world will be much better for that
Mmm. Thank you. I just had my surgery, and you were definitely right about the shoulder pain from the gas. That's about the most frustrating pain I have right now. Switching sides and things like that seems to help, but it doesn't want to go away.
And they won't let me go back to work because of liver issues involved with the surgery. D:
